Full disclosure-I cried watching the inauguration this morning-I have never before been so proud of our country. And so very thankful to God, with Whom nothing is impossible!!

I cried at BOTH of DJT's Inaugural addresses - but even more so this time around...the timbre of his voice and his demeanor were 180 degrees disparate from that of 2017 - and rightly so. He has gone through the CRUCIBLE the past 4 years, as have any of us who are NOT 'SHEEPLE'!!

Beautifully and powerfully written, Jayson. The "authors" of the comments you shared that particularly pricked my heart and mind were those by THOMAS PAINE, RONALD REAGAN AND "ANONYMOUS" (humble soul the he/she may be).

Onward Christian soldiers - EVIL never stops - we must be COURAGEOUS and FIGHT the GOOD FIGHT for FREEDOM, LIBERTY and JUSTICE FOR ALL LEGAL CITIZENS of this Constitutional Republic.

Thanks Sharon. I watched Reagan last night which would not have happened without your recommendation (i don't really watch movies anymore). Excellent film, thank you. It certainly had an impression on this article.

My favorite scene was when he leaned over his recruited writer and told him he was going to go to war with words (the pen is mightier) and he needed that kid who camped on his lawn. As a writer myself that resonated deeply with me. Words are SO incredibly powerful. They can build bridges or torch them in an instant.

Thank you.

I debated that precept "The Pen Is Mightier Than the Sword" in my senior year of H.S. (I took the "Pro" side, of course - (smile).

Let's hope that Reagan actually WAS the author of those powerfully written and sage words - given that he had many 'speech writers' as do most powerful people in governance. Doesn't really matter though - "Ronnie" WAS the "crusader" throughout his life - which the movie defined quite well. Glad you got to see it, Jayson!

SHALOM, friend!

I was delighted to see Ed Abbey in the list. I thought Thomas Jefferson had good advice. I imagine you had fun assembling the list!

The founding fathers were influenced by Plato, Aristotle, the Enlightenment, and the Iroquois, the Bible not so much, although Christian nationalists would try to revise history to have us believe so. There are many gods in the U.S., Allah, the God of the Old Testament etc....

Can you tell me which part of the above quotes were revised?

"For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens. Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place."(1st Chronicles 16:25-27).

With Polytheism, division (like opinions) are divisive and the people can never unite under the banner of Love (which is one of the characteristics of the one true God) The myopic narcissist cannot attain to a more perfect understanding unless they are willing to venture into uncharted waters. There is no doubt that there has been a lot of "history" revised by Victor's Justice, but there are also first person accounts that there is no reason to doubt that was their thoughts as a given junction in time. Real truth doesn't have an expiration date and is not subject to the ravages of time as we understand it.

The Bible contradicts the foundational tenets of the Declaration of Independence. Many of the Founders were Deists, who were mostly raised as Protestants, who held the view that experience and reason not religious dogma validate belief. It was Paine who enthusiastically promoted Deism. Nature’s God was used in the Declaration of Independence. Deism overtook orthodox Christianity in the minds of men designing the constitution. The women in their circles did not consider themselves Deists. Jefferson appreciated the Christian ethical framework for its inclusion of humility and benevolence over the classical ethical framework, but he was a Deist none the less. That is simply the history of the philosophical underpinnings of the framing of the Constitution. I know many Evangelicals would prefer if it was founded on the Bible, but it was not.

Perceiving the pejorative word "dogma" has broad implications as it can apply to any secular (Pagan) belief system as well. The Mayflower Compact which preceded the Declaration of Independence acknowledged the Creator. What parts would you find Contradictory to "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Which parts of the Bible would also be found complimentary to the above statement?

The Constitution is secular, based on the separation of Church and State. Deists reneged on the notion of the supernatural. 'In God we Trust' was written in 19th century, and ‘under God’ was not added until 1954 at the pinnacle of the McCarthy era. It is inappropriate for a government to favour one religion over other religions. Fortunately, Americans do not. Washington is called the Father of America, not a religious man, but a man with a strong character. The Constitution rejected supernatural power in favour of natural power in 'We the People.' Montesquieu the political theorist said, ‘even a false religion is the best security we can have of the probity of men.’ The Declaration of Independence came from the desire for self-government and the spirit of rebellion, two anti-biblical drives. The Hebrew Bible concerns God's chosen people, which is an elitist idea. According to Paul's view, rebelling against King George would be rebelling against God. However, the Declaration calls for people to rebel against absolutist rulers or governing bodies. This country was not founded on the tenets of Theism but Deism, and this has protected Christianity from political interference, and protected the Constitution by keeping these powers separate.

Although I agree that the Declaration was based in the principles of free speech and autonomy, I do not believe it was in rebellion against the God of heaven and earth (as "Rules for Radicals" would imply, but in resistance to arbitrary self actuating powers to the dictates of oligarchs, tyrants and such characters). The word govern meaning "to rule over" and ment meaning "the mind" works for those whose faculties are unimpeded by autocracies who insist that their rules must dominate. Whenever any body of people are in agreement, whether it is political or religious, there is a consensus reality that rarely applies to the individual or their circumstances. Can two walk together unless they be agreed? (Amos 3:3).

" That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6) One is seen in the corporeal world and the other is invisible to the same. Our faculties also inform us that the coercive force of governments was not to be abused by bad actors/actresses, but reality tells us that like the grievances described in our Declaration of Independence, we've come full circle. In the movie "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, he proffers the question; "Would you rather fight a tyrant a thousand miles away, or fight 3 thousand tyrants a mile away"? Any sane person will avoid contentions whenever possible, but sometimes, we realize it is not always possible as those who covet what their neighbors have will never content themselves with what they already have.

Of course it was not a rebellion against God. The declaration which led to the constitution remains secular in nature, and that is a very good thing.

I agree with your interpretation of history, but just a reminder; Jews, Christians and Muslims all have the same God. All three religions are culturally related.

Jews don't believe though, that Jesus is God whereas Christians do, I think that is a huge difference, because Christianity centers on the teachings of Jesus and Paul.

Jesus is one difference concerning the three religions. Christians see him as the Son of God. Jews and Muslims see Jesus as a prophet. Personally, I think you can get to God from any of these religions. It doesn't mean you will, but you can.

The thing is the issue of language, the idea of God has evolved within various religions and philosophies, each have their own interpretation be it personal, an abstract idea or the impersonal Divine. I think the word isn't necessary.

The New Testament was fabricated by pharisee josephus to impose a slave and submissive mentality on Rome's citizens for the Roman empire. First Peter

1Pe 2:13  Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

1Pe 2:14  Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

1Pe 2:15  For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

1Pe 2:16  As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

1Pe 2:17  Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

1Pe 2:18  Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

1Pe 2:19  For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

1Pe 2:20  For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

The bible a pack of lies.

Rom 13:1  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Rom 13:2  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Rom 13:3  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Rom 13:4  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Rom 13:5  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Rom 13:6  For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Rom 13:7  Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Putting your hope in a rich man, when your bible clearly says that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, that you cannot love money and God, and several other condemnations of money, and which in Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2 says that government is placed by God for good, and to honor and obey politicians is cognitive dissonance- it is contradictory. The first mentioned= the love of money is indeed a source of evil.

But your bible has lied to you regarding government. As well as regarding much else. My book THE UNTOLD NATURE OF CHRISTIANITY soundly debunks the bible, as well as the virtue of our founding fathers. They were slave owning rich lawyers. Jefferson who wrote "life, liberty, and the pursuit of..." had 180 slaves. Washington became president because he was the richest man in the new nation. Those men practiced much eloquent flatulence.

The constitution did not originally give women or poor the right to vote, it assured the ability to deceive and to worship Satan, and had absolutely no policies to restrict oppression, exploitation, deception, manipulation, etc.. My book ANGRY LOUD AND CLEAR TRUTH gives the truth.

Anyone who believes that the politicians are placed to do good, is clearly deceived. To honor and obey them is asking the imbecilic. To believe the bible is to be even more deceived. Be a good sheep, to identify as a stupid and helpless animal is positive? BE a good little sheep, believe all we say, and obey everything. If not, you are going to be lost, and you cannot do without us shepherds. Now be obedient, and you go to sheep paradise in the sky, not the slaughterhouse.
